An annual state grant has been helping local police departments partner with local community organizations to keep young adults and teenagers away from gangs and drugs.
Three local communities – Haverhill, Lawrence and Methuen – have once again received funding under State Senator Charles E. Shannon, Jr. Community Safety Initiative, which specifically provides money for programs which target and attempt to prevent youth gang violence.
